Abstract

A step toward life cycle cost reduction was the introduction of a Flight Incident Recording and Aircraft Monitoring Set (FIRAMS) in the F/A-18 Hornet. FIRAMS provides onboard nonvolatile storage of operational flight information and maintenance parameters.
