Abstract

The possibilities and limitations of using the polarization techniques for testing the birefringence distribution in large-area tempered glass are presented. The measuring device has been calibrated by using the standard technique for tempered glass parameter determination. The possibility of testing the distribution of mechanical stresses in tempered glass is demonstrated based on the results of the processing of their images recorded at polarized light.
