The Effectiveness of Professional Intervention Program from the perspective of the social casework method to alleviate the life pressures of the families of a recovering addict

Abstract

The problem of drug abuse is no longer a health, social and economic problem only, but also has gone beyond all of these aspects. It has become a national problem due to the destruction it causes to the addicted person, his or her family, or society in general, from stress, in addition to the addict, he or she is in dire need of professional help in order to improve his or her life and recover from drug addiction. So this study belongs to empirical studies that aim to test the effect of an independent variable, which is the professional intervention program from the perspective of the social casework method, on a dependent variable, which is life pressure, for the families of recovering addicts, where the main aim of the study was determined in testing the effectiveness of the professional intervention program in the social casework method to alleviate the life pressures of the families of recovering addicts. This study relied on the semi - experimental method using a pre-post-test design for two groups, one experimental and the other one is a control group. The study was applied in Cairo governorate in one of the addiction treatment institutions, the Omar shaheen hospital for psychiatry and addiction treatment, and the study reached to verify all its hypotheses.
