Wideband MIMO Antenna with Decoupling Slots for 5G Smartphone Applications

Abstract

In this paper, a novel multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system operated at 3.3~5.5GHz band is presented for 5G smartphone. The eight-element MIMO antenna is constructed by eight loop antenna elements. Each loop antenna element is composed of a dipole with two branches. To increase the isolation between antenna elements, T-shaped slots are etched on the ground floor, and the isolation is better than 16 dB. Within 3.3~5.5GHz, the simulated efficiency is higher than 72%.
