Abstract
Fiber optic subcarrier transmission links for personal mobile communications have been investigated. These links, which integrate optical fiber communications technology and wireless communications technology, are important for distributing signals in mobile communications environments. This paper presents an experimental study on a self-oscillating optoelectronic up-converter (SOOEUP) using a single heterojunction bipolar transistor chip. The characteristics of a balanced SOOEUP are also described.
