Abstract

This study addresses the problem of tuning Mamdani-type fuzzy Proportional-Integral-Derivative controllers by solving a constrained nonlinear optimisation problem. Two different schemes are discussed. One considers merely the scaling factors optimisation, while assuming the membership functions width unchanged.
