Abstract

The contactor under pulse-width-modulation (PWM) closed-loop control will produce high frequency noise in the holding phase. Based on the noise generation mechanism of contactor, a magneto-mechanical-acoustic coupled finite element model is established by considering the influence of magnetostriction, Lorentz force and Maxwell force. It is found that magnetostriction is the main factor causing the vibration of contactor. The simulation value is compared with the measured value to verify the feasibility of the model, which provides a theoretical and computational basis for the noise prediction of the contactor in the holding phase.
