Abstract
The glass ceramic investigated in this paper is a kind of promising ceramic to be applied in the parallel-plate stacked Blumleins, which is a suitable alternative structure for pulsed power system to achieving compactness, thus being portable. Experiments for testing its breakdown characteristics have been performed on the platform named ARC-01 with the ability to output repetitive pulses. Test of Breakdown characteristics under repetitively pulsed condition with various frequencies and pulse numbers has been carried out. The results indicate that the configuration design of electrode has a significant effect on the performance of the ceramic strength. To avoid the field enhancement points and find an optimized profile of electrode, some different electrodes have been studied. The impact of higher testing pulse frequency over longer time on the breakdown strength is significant, implying a high dielectric loss factor for the applications.
