Abstract

The application of Direct Torque Control (DTC) for an induction machine using modified cascade of five-level and six-level voltage source inverters has been presented. The configuration of this drive system includes a sampling scale predictive model of the induction machine and an inverter control system for the optimum transistor switching. Simulation results for a DTC system fed by 5-level and 6-level modified inverters in comparison to basic DTC system fed by 2-level inverter have been also presented.
