An instability problem in Chebyshev expansions for special functions

Abstract

For the last 2 or 3 years, I have been developing a software package MISCFUN which evaluates mathematical functions not found in the standard libraries such as NAG or IMSL, or in public-domain packages such as SPECFUN or FNLIB.
