Abstract

Optical dense wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) systems have been investigated in order to enlarge transmission capacity and improve network flexibility. Arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG) multiplexers are key components in such systems because they can process plural wavelengths simultaneously.
