Development of the communication protocol for the electronic watt meter

Abstract

Currently, the electric meters installed in KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation) have their own communication protocol. So we have encountered many difficulties to manage various meters and to fix problems because vendors are reluctant to tell us the protocol. To solve these problems and to make a much more cost-effective metering system, KEPCO have developed a standard communication protocol which can be used easily by everyone.
