Abstract

This book provides statistics about changes in population, housing, jobs, nonresidential space, and other key factors to shaping the built environment. Contemporary development trends are analyzed and shifts that will affect metropolitan areas in the coming years are identified. The ways in which redevelopment can meet new and emerging market demands by creating more compact, walkable, and enjoyable communities are shown.
