Abstract

The design of telecommunication networks historically considers cost, availability and robustness. Nevertheless, latency-driven systems should consider the network diameter as well. A modern concept suitable to those systems is the diameter constrained reliability. This is the probability that specific nodes (terminals) are within a specified number of hops. In this short paper we revisit classical results from topological network design, and find explicit expressions for the diameter constrained reliability of feasible solutions from celebrated network optimization problems.
