Abstract

This paper is an overview of a preliminary attempt at the modeling procedure of a bi-directional power converter system for design an output-stage of a residential smart-grid based solid-state transformer. The aim was to develop a simulation model, which has been performed with a PLECS circuit simulator. The studies of this manuscript dealt with the analysis and design of bi-directional power converters and their control strategies based on the requirements of the residential smart-grid power flow.
