Distributed network intelligence and its implication to the broadband ISDN

Abstract

Interprocessor communication delays, module precedence relationships, module scheduling, interconnection network delays, and the associated response times are among the factors addressed in evaluating the impact of the emerging intelligent network architecture on broadband ISDN services. The evolution of the network is examined in the context of these potential constraints by considering connection setup tasks, service-related tasks, and the associated task response times against the background of a Signaling System Number 7 overlay network.<>
