CULTURE STUDIES ASPECTS OF GERMAN LITERARY CRITICISM: METHODOLOGICAL ASPECT

Abstract

The article presents an analysis of the causes and effects of “cultural turn” in Germanic literary criticism and formation of culture studies based literary criticism as one of the key concepts of contemporary culture studies and leading context-oriented theory and research method for literary works. The main principles of culture studies based literary criticism have been singled out, including expansion of the notion of textuality, culture as an important context of a literary work, mediality, discursive character, performability of literature, concepts of memory, ritual and canon. The methodology of culture studies based literary criticism is presented as a model construction set.
