Abstract

This paper reviews the author's studies on phase transitions of mantle minerals at high pressures and high temperatures. Two experimental techniques, high-pressure high-temperature experiment and calorimetry, have been applied to clarify the phase transitions and thermodynamic properties of mantle minerals. The author's researches are described in the trend of mineral physics studies in recent decades. Current status and future development in mineral physics are also briefly discussed.
