Abstract

Despite the fact that current smartphone platform incorporates efficient energy measurement tools, robust power models, and mechanisms to control energy, battery lifetime continues to frustrate users. This is because of the disconnect between "one-size-fits-all" approach of these solutions and the wide diversity in device usage and app behavior that actually exists. We identify the missing piece of the mobile device energy management puzzle which helps us address diverse energy expectations of different users interacting with different apps.
