Switched reluctance motor drive at high speeds, with control of current

Abstract

This work presents a method of driving a switched reluctance motor (SRM) at high-speeds by controlling the motor's phase currents waveforms. Simulation results show that a substantial improvement in the output average torque is obtained, as compared to the conventional mode of operation.
