Currently, innovation is the agenda of the first magnitude and highly dependent on skilled people. Initiatives to expand professional learning network and the search for talent show this path of transformation: The higher the level of complexity and technological sophistication employed in manufacturing processes, the greater shall be the technical qualifications requirements of the staff employed in organizations, especially on the shop floor. The industry is an important sector for the Brazilian economy; its development accelerates the growth of the country, promoting the distribution of wealth. Without education that socioeconomic engineering does not work. In this context it is important to examine the vocational technical courses from the perspective of students. The goal is to understand, from the difficulties experienced by the students, which can interfere with the development of the courses. To fulfill this approach, questionnaires among students enrolled in a unit of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Bahia were applied.
