New addition to the flora of Maranhão: Ipomoea subrevoluta Choisy (Convolvulaceae)

Abstract

The first record of Ipomoea subrevoluta Choisy in the flora of Maranhão, Brazil, is presented. This species, belonging to the Convolvulaceae family, is found in areas near water bodies and is considered vulnerable. The finding was made in the municipality of Bacabal, in a transition zone between the Amazonian Domain and the Cerrado. A brief description, phenological information, ecological observations, photographs, and the updated conservation status are provided.
