The Acquisition of Verb and Verb Particles: A Psycholinguistic Approach

Abstract

In the process of language learning, acquisition of verbs and their particles requires a certain level of mental capability. Acquiring the particles of verbs, such as argument structure and theta role (see below), require both developmental and cognitive efficiency. The use of syntax (order of words in a sentence) and psycholinguistics play an important role in examining argument structure and theta role, as well as the developmental process.
