Abstract

We discuss the detection of high frequency signals produced by partial discharges, emphasizing the localization of the discharges and the related recording, processing, and interpretation of the effect in the time and frequency domains. Determining the exact position of PD has proved to be a beneficial and cost-effective activity in large-sized devices such as oil cooled transformers.
