Abstract

A dud-reference beam, plane-wave illumination holographic interferometry set-up has been developed which can operate in a rapid double-pu'ae mode. It is intended for the quantitative study of density clianges that take place in a flow in very short time intervals (1-8110 ps), by means of a fast electro-optical shutter to switch the two reference beams between subsequent exposures. Some preliminary results have been obtained using a turbulent supersoric jet (M M 1.8).
