Abstract

In the research, it was aimed to analyze the relationship between physical education and sports attitude and motivation to play digital games, and to examine whether the attitude towards physical education and sports is a predictor of motivation to play digital games and whether the high school students' attitude towards physical education and sports and their motivation to play digital games differ according to gender. 340 high school students participated in the research using the quantitative model. Personal information form, attitude towards physical education and sports, and motivation to play digital games scales were used in the research. Pearson moment correlation analysis, regression and t test analysis were used in the research. In the study, a highly significant negative correlation was found between the attitude towards physical education and sports and the motivation to play digital games. In addition, it was determined that the attitude towards physical education and sports negatively predicted the motivation to play digital games and explained 25% of the variance. It was determined that the attitudes of men towards physical education and sports is significantly higher than that of women, and the motivation of women to play digital games is significantly higher than men. At the end of the research, it was concluded that the attitude towards physical education and sports is a determinant of the motivation to play digital games, that the increase in the attitude towards physical education and sports reduces the motivation to play digital games, and that men tend to physical education and sports and women tend to digital games more prominently.
