Abstract
The thermal decomposition of hydrocarbons in tubular furnaces is the main technology for the production of ethylene. Also, there are some alternative pyrolysis types, such as catalytic pyrolysis, oxidative dehydrogenation, pyrolysis with direct heating. This paper summarizes ethylene production via the most used pathways of this process and the comparison of pyrolysis methods is also discussed.
