Abstract
Two brief empirical formulas of substrate integrated ridged waveguide(SIRW) are derived to calculate the equivalent parameters between SIRW and ridged waveguide. Using these formulas, a wideband hybrid ring coupler based on half-mode substrate integrated ridged waveguide(HMSIRW) is designed conveniently. The simulated and measured results show that the bandwidth increased by 7% compared to half-mode substrate integrated waveguide hybrid ring coupler.
