Abstract
We propose a comparison between results predicted by two mathematical models of magnetic hysteresis and experimental data. The first model is based on the Preisach model, the second consists in solving a differential equation between B and H. Those models are very different in their principles and the properties they exhibit. In particular, the second one models the accommodation of minor loops and the anhysteresis curve when the first does not. The magnetic material we study is a CoNiCr alloy for longitudinal digital recording. We give some results showing that, for this material, the Mayergoyz model fits better the experimental behavior.
