Abstract
In this paper, a double layer polarization independent broadband absorber using resistive ink is presented. A resistive pattern is present on each layer which is printed on a low cost FR-4 sheet through screen printing technology. An air spacer is present between each layer as a substrate. The absorber is backed by conducting plate to make transmission zero. The below −10 dB simulation result of the reflection co-efficient of the designed absorber is in the frequency range 4.00 GHz to 19.00 GHz, which covers entire C, X and Ku bands, which results in 132.74% fractional bandwidth. The designed absorber is $0.08\lambda_{L}$ thick, where $\lambda_{L}$ (wavelength at the starting frequency of the operating band).
