Abstract

In this paper, a novel distributed choking method, the spiral choke, is presented to address the cross-band scattering issue in dual-band antenna arrays. The operating mechanism of the spiral choke is analyzed, and its effectiveness in suppressing cross-band scattering is verified in a closely spaced 4G and 5G dual-band array. The experimental results demonstrate that the array with the spiral-choked LB element achieves mitigated cross-band scattering and has consistent radiation performance in both well-matched low and high bands.
