Abstract

Synchronous reluctance machines are receiving increasing attention as a rare-earth free motor. However they exhibit torque ripple, which can causes vibration and acoustic noise. The adoption of an asymmetric rotor structure leads to a great improvement on torque ripple reduction. The focus of this paper is to study the interaction between the flux-barrier shape and noise, vibration and harshness behaviour. For this aim, two prototypes have been designed and built, including Both symmetric and asymmetric rotor structure.
