Abstract

The article analyzes the peculiarities of the organization of local self-government bodies in different states. The constitutions of different countries and the normative legal acts that determine the status of local self-government bodies are analyzed. The importance of the functioning of local self-government bodies as one of the main democratic institutions of the state is considered. It is concluded that the presence of local self-government bodies is a prerequisite for democracy for civil society. It is thanks to local self-government that the community is able to manage local affairs and effectively solve problems according to its needs.
