Abstract

This paper describes various methodologies for measurement of in-bore velocity and pressure time profile. In-bore velocity measurement has been carried out using Ka band Doppler radar. Piezoelectric transducer has been used to measure the chamber pressure-time profile during dynamic firing. This work also includes the computation of pressure time profile from the velocity time profile along with the estimation of breech pressure. It has been observed that the computed pressure time profile follows the measured breech pressure time profile with a relatively small average error of 0.86% except towards the low charge mass.
