Using bibliometric techniques to carry out this analysis, a total of 272 peer-reviewed articles in English, published between 1935 and 2022, were selected. Bibliometric results point to a concentration of publications in the USA, with an increase in the pace of studies from year 2000 onwards. It has a research center centered on 11 international journals. The most cited article was written by authors Melkers J., Willoughby K. (2005), totaling 252 citations.
