Abstract
Bit-error rate (BER) performance of coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals on frequency-selective Rician fading channels is studied in this paper. The means and the cross-correlations of frequency-selective Rician fading channels seen by OFDM subcarriers are first derived. Then based on a pairwise error probability (PEP) analysis, the mean vector and the cross-correlation matrix are used to obtain an upper bound of the overall BER in a closed-form for coded OFDM signals. Numerical examples are presented to compare the proposed upper bound of the overall BERs and the overall BERs obtained by simulations.
