Abstract
Rajah or better known as amulet is a culture that has been carried out by the predecessors of the Indonesian, especially in Sumatra. This can be seen from the tin inscription by inventory number 01/PADMA/Sn/VIII/2019 which was found around the Batanghari Watershed (DAS). This article takes the problem of the content of the inscription, the relationship between the writing and the ornaments on the inscription. The method used is data collection (heuristics) through literature study, reading research reports that have been carried out previously, then analyzing the intent of the tin inscription numbered 01/PADMA/Sn/ VIII/2019. This inscription begins with a mantra sentence, an appeal to a supernatural figure who inhabits the soga tree and the adjacent river. The soga tree mentioned in the inscription usually lives in the lowlands, with high rainfall, and is relatively close to water sources. This is in accordance with the context of the same sentence, in the second line which mentions the word “bataṅan” which means river. It is also in accordance with the context of the discovery of the inscription, namely in the Batanghari River watershed in the Muaro Jambi Temple Complex.
