Abstract
This research project focuses mainly on the experimental characterization of thermophysical properties of the earth material extracted from the Benguerir city (Central region of Morocco). Samples were prepared and their thermophysical properties were characterized experimentally using the steady-state hot plate method and the differential scanning calorimetry method to estimate thermal conductivity and thermal heat capacity, respectively. A dynamic thermal simulation was carried out on a traditional building located by hypothesis in the Benguerir city. The obtained results showed an important interest in using earth as a promoter building material while preserving the local cultural heritage, ensuring thermal comfort, contributing to significant energy savings during all seasons of the year, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions..
