Training Risk Management: Bridge Over Troubled Waters

Abstract

Application of traditional problem-solving methods to solve the software crisis has been-for the most par-ineffective. The source of the software crisis is the project, process, and product risk that tums into problems because risk management is not done. Teaching and training in risk management can be a bridge over troubled waters facing engineers developing software systems. Educators and managers must help professional engineers increase their ability to manage software risk. This half-day tutorial provides opportunities for participants to learn how to incorporate risk management in education and training to satisfy the needs of the software community.
