Computer "MIR" is a Prototype of Modern Personal Computer

Abstract

Present article considers the history of Soviet computer technology in Ukraine in 1950-1970. The implementation of the ideas of V.M. Glushkov in the construction of new computers, especially the MIR series, which gradually approached the modern personal computer, and are its forerunners. The decision of the country's leadership in 1969 to copy Western computer technology instead of developing original designs interrupted development. Particular attention is paid to the impact of the "MIR" series on the economy and communication of cybernetics with the public.
