Abstract
This paper proposes a low profile vertically polarized antenna with end-fire radiation at 28 GHz. A reshaped quasi-PIFA antenna is applied to serve as a driving element with L-shaped feeding structure firstly. Then, two groups of patches are utilized to further improve the bandwidth and gain. Finally, the antenna is designed by low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) process technology. Numerical results highlight that, with a height of 0.076λ0 (λ0 is the free-space wavelength of 27GHz), the proposed antenna features a wide bandwidth up to 20% as well as the realized gain ranging from 2.8-6.3dBi within the operating band.
