Abstract
A comprehensive review of the literary and theater criticism concerning Zofia Nałkowska’s second play reveals a great discrepancy in the reviewers’ opinions (Karol Irzykowski, Antoni Słonimski, Jan Lorentowicz, Adam Grzymała-Siedlecki). It is an exceptionally peculiar testimony of reception, perhaps also revealing to some extent the reasons for the gradual turning away of the author of "The House of Women" from playwriting.
