Abstract

This paper presents the design and test results of two Ultra-Broadband Uniplanar Passive x2 Multipliers covering the Ku to W band using Slotline and Coplanar strips (CPS) based baluns and diode tees. One multiplier consists of a CPW-Slotline balun feeding a series diode-tee to generate the output range of 12 to 65 GHz with coax input and output connectors. The other multiplier uses a CPS-CPW balun driving a series diode-tee covering the output range of 65 GHz to 110 GHz with a coax input and WR10 output. Conversion loss of 10-20 dB at the module level is obtained with 3 dB flatness or less in any 25 GHz range.
