Abstract
Since the creation of the web, the number of its numeric data is increasing exponentially, which lead to two major problems: cognitive overload and disorientation [1]. To respond to these problems, researchers have proposed adaptive information systems, which allow providing relevant results to the specific need of the user. Generally the selection of interesting documents to a user is done on the basis of his area of interest, inferred from the information about the user or his user profile. Thus the calculation of the interest center is one of the essential elements for a relevant research. In this paper we use a graphical representation of the user profile based on the structure of an ontology. Thus we were be able to use the power of mathematical calculations of graphs to deduce the user's interests center taking into account the semantic links between the graph's concepts.
