Abstract

The incidence and polarization directions of the impinging field generated during a radiated susceptibility (RS) test is determined by the orientation and positioning of feeding antenna. In this connection, the optimized way to place the antenna is addressed in this paper, with the objective to maximizing the coupling efficiency on a matched transmission line (TL) system, in particular, the optimized incidence and polarization angles are solved in close-form. This is achieved by tailoring a general reciprocity theorem for modeling the field-coupling to TL problem. The proposed analysis could help increase the testing level without additional investments on the radiation system in a RS test.
