Towards a Capability Repository For Java-ME Enabled Devices

Abstract

This paper discusses an initiative to construct a capability repository that will assist Java-ME developers in device recognition. The repository will act as a collaboration tool for developers by allowing contributions and recommendations of capability attributes. The structure and the dynamics of the proposed repository are discussed. Throughout the paper, the value of such an initiative is emphasized based on the authorpsilas observations from evaluating a Java-ME mini browser.
