The Radar Cross Section (RCS) and frequency coding techniques are suggested with a comparison, showing the reduction in dimension of the transponders during fabrication. Abstract

Chipless Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is one of the most rapidly increasing technologies in the field of identification of systems over the past few years. Tagging technology has an edge over optical barcodes as it does not require line-of-sight communication. In this paper, the design, simulation, and fabrication of two three-bit chipless RFID tags, based on the split-ring resonator (SRR) concept are analyzed. The Radar Cross Section (RCS) and frequency coding techniques are suggested with a comparison, showing the reduction in dimension of the transponders during fabrication. It leads to the cost reduction in tag manufacturing which is suitable for mass industrial production.
