Abstract

The role of an energy management system (EMS) in a microgrid is studied in this paper. A task is formulated to optimize the economic costs of the considered microgrid without using an EMS. The respective task is solved on a specific example. Then an EMS is introduced in the microgrid, the correspondent model is modified, and a new task is solved.
