Abstract

The properties of rubber composites are closely related to the compatibility of inorganic filler and rubber matrix. In this work, to prepare silicone rubber (SIR) composite, the commonly used aluminum hydroxide in SIR as filler was replaced by mica with a certain proportion. Through adding mica with good insulation performance, the electrical performance of composites was enhanced. At the same time, the mixing proportion between two kinds of filler was founded to control fillers dispersion on the matrix. As the mica content increased, although the mechanical properties of the composites degenerated slightly, the breakdown strength of the composites increased significantly.
