Abstract
A dual-band fractal slot antenna fed by fractal capacitive coupling is presented, which it is responsibility to the characteristics of compact size, low profile and multiple operating frequencies. A technique for reducing electrical length on the antenna is fractal geometry designing with the antenna. The antenna dimension is about 40×46 mm2 which it reduced approximately 20% from conventional patch antenna. Additionally, the antenna has dual-band operation which the frequency ranges are 1920-2170 MHz and 2.4-2.484 GHz. They are included standard of IMT2000 (3th generation) and WLAN IEEE 802.11 b/g consequently. Moreover the impedance bandwidth reached 13% and 9%, respectively. Nevertheless, the characteristic impedance is 50 Ohm in both of operating frequencies which are using a capacitive coupling fed technique. Details and other parameters of the proposed design and measured results are presented and discussed.
